Should I setup the White List first?
No. You cannot setup White List upfront. Sentry 2 allows you to preload White List upfront.
This is the conventional way of call blocking. In this Mode, SENTRY blocks calls that are on Black List. Just put the unwanted caller number to the Black List, it will be blocked. SENTRY’s Black List capacity is 9999.
In this mode, SENTRY's "Stop and Check” system screens all incoming calls . It is acting like a true sentry that stands guard your telephone 24/7. It recognizes your ‘Good’ callers (on White List), and let them pass through. It recognizes those on the Black List and hangs up on them directly. For a caller not on either list, SENTRY will stop it and perform the checking (the Voice). All ‘BAD’ callers will be turned away by the Voice, and ‘Good’ callers can press 0 to ring SENTRY box, and you can answer the call. A caller not on White List yet will not be able to access the voicemail. And this may be a problem in the beginning and that’s why we advise you to use BASIC MODE first.

When SENTRY is on, it only receives faxes from White Listed numbers. It blocks 100% of junk faxes. When you are expecting a incoming fax not on White List, you can turning off SENTRY temporarily. Just tap “Voice” button to see “OFF” on screen. Afterwards, you can add that fax number to your White List, so next time it will come in as usual
Yes, but Black List (Basic) mode only. White List mode is not recommended for business since it stops and checks all unlisted callers. This may be annoying to your customers.
Just press DELETE/HOME once.
You don't need to. The incoming calls will automatically set the display time.
